Polycarboxylate Ether Superplasticizer

CAS No. 25133-97-5

Polycarboxylate Ether Superplasticizer (PCE) represents the 3rd generation of high-performance concrete admixtures following lignosulfonates and naphthalene-based superplasticizers. Featuring a unique comb-like molecular structure, PCE achieves superior dispersion through a combination of electrostatic repulsion and steric hindrance. It delivers exceptionally high water reduction (≥25 % - 40 %) at very low dosage rates, making it essential for high-strength concrete, self-compacting concrete (SCC), precast elements, and long-distance pumped concrete.

Application of polycarboxylate superplasticizers in the industry

High-performance concrete engineering

High-performance concrete engineering

Polycarboxylate superplasticizers are the key additive for making high-strength, high-performance concrete. They greatly improve the fluidity and strength of concrete while significantly saving on cement. They're widely used in major national infrastructure projects like dams, marine ports, cross-sea bridges, high-speed railways, nuclear power plants, subway tunnels, and airports. Famous projects such as the Three Gorges Dam, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway have all used this product.

Ready-mixed concrete and residential buildings

Suitable for various industrial and civilian buildings, including ready-mixed concrete, cast-in-place concrete, and commercial concrete stations. Its excellent slump retention extends the working time of concrete, ensures pumpability after long-distance transport and site delays, and also improves workability, preventing segregation, layering, and bleeding.

Special Concrete and Precast Components

Special Concrete and Precast Components

It's especially suitable for ultra-high-strength, highly durable, super-fluid self-compacting, steel fiber, and other specialty concretes, as well as precast concrete components. Through molecular structure design, specialized products like high workability retention, early strength, and viscosity reduction types have been developed to specifically tackle various construction challenges of specialty concretes.

Dry powder mortar and special building materials

Polycarboxylate superplasticizers are also used in powdered form in cement-based dry mix materials, like non-shrink grouts, repair mortars, cement floors, and waterproof mortars. They can significantly improve the flow of the mortar and boost both early and later strength. They're also used in gypsum-based materials, refractory materials, and ceramic products.
